Instructor: Susan Kuznitsky, PSA, NWPS, CPP, PSWC, IAMPS MC 3-Day Pastel Workshop Friday, Saturday, & Sunday October 20, 21, & 22, 2023 9:30 AM-4:00 PM each day Fee: $350 M/ $375 NM Join award-winning artist, Susan Kuznitsky for a three-day pastel class. The focus will be on capturing the light. No matter the season or the subject, it is the light that draws us in. Whether you are a landscape painter or figurative painter you will benefit from this highly popular workshop. Each day will be focusing on different aspects of color as well as different approaches to the underpainting. Susan will demonstrate a variety of subjects. You will have the option to paint along from the same image or work from your own reference material. There will be time for personal and constructive feedback during the three-day course. This class is appropriate for all levels of skill. Each day will begin with a Power Point Presentation covering the following topics: Day #1 – Color and Relativity – how color is influenced by what color is around it. Day #2 – Painting ‘White’ – how to create colorful whites in your paintings. Day #3 – High Chroma – how to use the power of strong color without over doing it. More things to be covered: The power of the underpainting Working from photos – what to leave in and what to leave out Drawing tips – line, rhythm, negative shapes Lost and found edges Color and value Mark making Organizing your pastels in studio and for plein air Fee includes continental breakfast each day, bottled water, and snacks. There is a 1-hour break for lunch. Supply list provided at registration. Upon registering for this class, give us a call for payment in order to secure your spot. Payment is required to secure your spot. Cancellations can be made up to one week before the event for a full refund. Less than one week, there will be a charge of $15 taken from the total fee. No refunds given cancelling the day of the event. *Classes are priced as McCord Member / Non-Member

Refund and Makeup Policy

Refunds will be given before a session starts. Once the first class of a session has begun, there will be no refunds for that session.

​

A make-up class will be arranged if an instructor cancels a class. If a student misses a class, there are no refunds for that class. A make-up class can be arranged during that same session by the instructor if space is available in another class. Make-up classes will not be rolled over into a new session.
