McCord is honored to present “A Beautiful Noise,” an exhibition celebrating the power of sound and its beauty, energy, and ability to move us. Inspired by the idea that a single noise can carry memory, emotion, and influence, this show explores how sound can be seen rather than heard.
We encouraged artists to interpret the concept of noise through 2-D and 3-D artworks. How might line, color, rhythm, or texture of an artwork echo harmonies, disruptions, and resonances of sounds that shape our lives.
McCord invites you to see and enjoy this juried exhibit. Join us at the artists reception where awards will be anounced.
Artist Reception on:
Friday, April 10, 6-8 PM
Exhibition open until Saturday, May 2, 2026
Awards will be announced at reception
Juror: Jose Antonio Bedolla

J. Antonio Bedolla, affectionately known as Tony, is a native of Chicago’s Southwest Side. He is a skilled artist specializing in graphite pencil drawing and portrait/ figure oil painting. Tony honed his craft at the Art Institute of Chicago and American Academy of Art, further nurturing his artistic aspirations at the Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts. This is where he enhanced his unique technique of blending without the use of blending tools, a skill that has garnered attention from his peers. Tony’s current artistic endeavors are focused on mastering Impressionism. He pays particular attention to movement and emotion within his figure anatomy paintings, elements that are central to his artwork. His credentials and skills are not just for his personal development, but also serve as tools for teaching others his techniques. One fellow artist described Tony’s artwork as having a vivid, museum-quality appeal. His work is not only a testament to his talent but also a testament to his dedication to the craft and his continuous pursuit of artistic excellence.
