Piano, Voice, music theory, drama, guitar, ukulele, drum circle, and all band & orchestra instruments
Affectionately referred to as “Miss Christine” by her students, Ms. Kedzior holds performance degrees in both Musical Theater and Theater from Illinois State University. Performing since the age of three, she has credits in theater, opera, and dance ranging from Miss Julie to The Magic Flute to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In addition to piano and voice, her background also allows her to teach music theory, drama, guitar, ukulele, drum circle, and all band & orchestra instruments. While she will always cherish her early performance memories, her greatest joy is teaching and the opportunity it gives her to enrich her student’s lives.
Playing since the age of 12, Mr. Roti attended Columbia College, where he majored in Music Performance for Jazz and Blues Guitar. He has played with several bands, performed at the Taste of Chicago on the Fox Stage, and currently performs on weekends. Mr. Roti teaches over 60 private students each week and has been an excellent addition to McCord since 2004.
Flute, Piccolo, Piano, & Oboe
Darlene has played flute for most of her life. She has a degree in music from DePaul University where she studied music theory and enjoyed improvisation. In addition, Darlene plays the piccolo, piano, and oboe. She is currently the flutist for the contemporary group at Our Lady of the Woods Church and also plays for weddings and other special occasions. Although she typically uses the Rubank Flute Method book and school band books, her teaching style is flexible. Darlene has had experience working with students at all levels. Not only will her students learn flute, they will gain knowledge of musical phrasing, interpretation, and theory.
